Fall outfit choices

Hey guys, it's been a while since the last blog post. I've been searching for fall outfits in different websites. While every website has a couple of things that are really nice, I noticed one website that seems to have it all for me. I'm addicted to River Island. I would buy almost everything they have on their website. However, it is kind of pricey. I wouldn't say as pricey as brand names, but definitely pricier than H&M and slightly above Zara. But I think it's worth it. So here are some things that I found on their website while shopping around.

The summer/fall transition outfit

Picking outfits for the kinds of weather during season transitions can be tricky. Sometimes it is too cold to wear shorts, but yet still a bit hot to wear pants. Same dilemma goes with tops. Short sleeves or long sleeves? Should you wear a coat, a jumper, cardigans? In this kind of weather, it is important to make smart outfit choices. This outfit I picked out is suitable for the season transition period. Since it is almost fall, I decided to choose an outfit with autumn colors, subtle, casual, yet classy. It's a great outfit for those of you who like the hippie-chic look.

The petterned white shirt from Topman is a great hippie-chic looking top without being too over the top. The pattern still makes a good fashion statement while still keeping it subtle. The River Island navy chinos make the perfect match with the white shirt, completing the look effortlessly. And the Sebago shoes completes the hippie-chic look perfectly. It is important to pick a shoe of different colors than white or blue. Some people might like to match the colors of their clothing items, but sometimes too much of that can be tacky. The brown color of the shoes really contrast the rest of the outfit well. If the weather gets too cold, then the Topman parka coat will blend well with the outfit. Although the green-khaki color may be different, as a whole, the outfit will be coherent and every piece will complete each other.

A bit of edge

There are some fashion items that can instantly make your outfit stand out. Accessories such as hats and jewelries are often overlooked by people when putting their outfit together. But if you're one of those people who don't like to put on hats, necklaces, rings, or bracelets for any reason, then your outfit choice may come in handy in making a good fashion statement without looking too bland. Simplicity is great, but sometimes when your outfit consists of plain tee, plain shorts, and plain shoes, it can be kinda dull. Pick out one clothing item, either a top or pants, that has a bit of an edge. Then pair it up with bland clothes in order to make it stand out. This will make your outfit look much more interesting without making it look like you're trying too hard. Here are some of the tops that I picked out that would do the trick.

This sweatshirt from Ones Supply Co. is a good piece to wear with skinny jeans or skinny shorts. The space sleeves are already bold enough to make your whole outfit stand out, so you wouldn't need to pair it with another patterned clothing item.

This black panther shirt from Topman is the perfect choice for people that really want to make an edgy fashion statement. If you're into name brand stuff, then you might know a similar Rottweiler t-shirt from Givenchy. But if you're on a budget, this t-shirt from Topman would do the trick at a cheaper price. It could also be paired with skinny jeans or skinny shorts, and if you're feeling extra fashionable, complete the look with a nice beanie hat. The thing to remember is just to keep the other clothing items simple and plain, to make the t-shirt stand out and make an effortless fashion statement.

Polo time

Now, continuing what I said in my last blog, patterns and motives are very trendy right now. But it is not easy to find a patterned top that is bold, but subtle at the same time. Sometimes when the motives are too bold, your clothing might end up looking cheap. Here are my two choices of polo shirts for the summer. The first one has motives on it, which is very reminiscent of summer. The second one is actually plain, but still has color blocks to make it a bit more unique.

Summer hats

Some of the things I love to wear in the summer is a hat. It can be worn with a t-shirt, tank-top, button-up, almost anything basically. But picking a nice-looking hat is not that easy. A lot of stores sell hats with some corny writings on them, such as "swag", or other similar words. Don't get me wrong, some people can pull it off, but today's trends really allows you to be more original and crazy in your clothing choices. The first hat that I personally like, from Ezekiel, has a hipster/street vibe to it. Patterns, flower motives, these are all trending right now, and who says that they can only be on t-shirts or pants. The flower motives on this hat really makes a good statement, but is still subtle enough to make it not look cheap. Although, it is important to not wear this hat with an overwhelmingly patterned t-shirt or pants. You want to make this hat an accent item. So try wearing simple things for tops and pants/shorts to accentuate the patterns of the hat.

Now, if you're too shy to wear this kind of patterned hat, you could still find another one that is simple, but still is unique. The second hat, also from Ezekiel, is plain, but has different color accents to make it special. Not to mention the corduroy material that it's made of, which makes it even more unique. This hat can be worn with basically anything during the summer. It's very casual, yet it gives a nice statement of a street style.
